Summer is a busy season for photographers, so here's already the next update! Day 2 of SUMMER NIGHTS Open Air featuring the following bands (and including onstage shots!):
BEHEMOTH, CATARACT, DARK REFLEXIONS, DARKFALL, GRAVEWORM, ELUVEITIE, MERCENARY, MORTIPHERUS, OBSCURITY, SODOM, VARG and WOLFCHANT.

Seeing KOTITEOLLISUUS live seems to be impossible for those not living in Finland, thus we took quite a huge bunch of pics at their gig on the 25th April at Tavastia in Hellcity for all, who couldn't attend this gig and of course for those who've been there.

The archive is filling up, we added some great dose of Thrash Metal to our gallery: MEGADETH!

The festival season 2009 has finally started. Our first festival this year was SUMMER NIGHTS OPEN AIR in Mining am Inn in Austria.
A really cool and relaxed middle sized festival with great bands. So far we uploaded pics of day one featuring DEADLOCK, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, KATAKLYSM, KEEP OF KALESSIN, LEGION OF THE DAMNED, MISERY SPEAKS, NEAERA, SABATON and SATYRICON!

The festival seasons starts tomorrow at SUMMERNIGHTS OPEN AIR in Austria. But before that, we added some older pictures to our archives:
DEVILDRIVER and MAGNACULT (including on stage pics!), who played at Rockhal last year in April.
Since this gig was so much fun, we're going to photograph DEVILDRIVER again in June! Make sure to check back for the pics!

Finnish ‘pop-rock-phenomenon’ Sunrise Avenue have just recently released their 2nd album in Finland with an enticing name – Popgasm. It is still yet to be released in Sweden (27.05.2009) and in Germany (22.05.2009). The album consists of quite catchy trademark Sunrise Avenue songs, as well as touching ballads. It has all the prerequisites to follow the success of its predecessor, the band's first album – ‘On the Way to Wonderland’.

Due to this occasion, Sunrise Avenue decided to give a popgasm to their fans and played a magnificent gig at Apollo, Helsinki on the 13th of May.

Swedish Death Metal legends ENTOMBED were playing in Luxemburg so we surely couldn't miss this. Support bands were two local bands: ABSTRACT RAPTURE and RETRACE MY FRAGMENTS, check them out - bands and gallery! ;-)
Great gig, not so great light, but we did our best.

Surely one of the craziest Finnish bands founds it's way into our gallery, it's the Finnish answer to Rammstein, if you'd like to call them like that, but definitely more insane, especially when it comes to live gigs. Check out the gallery for some TURMION KÄTILÖT madness!

We caught vocalist/guitarist Jouni Hynen from legendary Finnish band KOTITEOLLISUUS backstage at Tavastia in Helsinki, shortly before their gig. This resulted in an interesting and hopefully entertaining interview, that you can read HERE!

Yes, you read correctly!
This time you'll not only find pictures of the gig, but also a report! We had mentioned a while ago, that we might come up with some extra features for Music-Photocalypse, other than "just" pictures. So here, you go! We have started a CONCERT REPORTS section (and are working on another extra as well, more news on that soon, stay tuned!).

Our dear Mr. Viking-Absolutely-Great-Voice aka Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH/TAROT...) is also vocalist in a Finnish band called SAPATTIVUOSI, that is playing BLACK SABBATH songs. In case you've never heard of them, we urge you to read the report of this event, have a look at the pictures and check the band out of course!

Can Easter be more (Black) Metal than attending INFERNO FESTIVAL in Oslo? We attended this 4 days in event covering almost all the bands this hell of a Metal party had to offer. Warm-Up pics and pics of day 1 are already up, more to come, stay tuned!

Just before flying to Norway again for almighty INFERNO FESTIVAL, we've uploaded pictures of last year's Screamfest, that took place at Chateau Neuf/Betong in Oslo.
Even though IMMORTAL were unfortunately forced to cancel their festival appearance last minute, it turned out to be a pretty relaxed and nice small festival, even though the light/photograph conditions weren't the best.
