The Anne Frank Dwelling has bought a special donation from Jacqueline Sanders-Van Maarsen: her autograph e book with a handwritten verse by Anne Frank, dated 23 March 1942. The now 95-365 days-ragged Jacqueline has in moderation preserved the album with Annes verse over time as a testament to their deep friendship.

Writing verses in classmates and chums autograph books or poziealbums used to be a favored passion on the time, particularly amongst girls. Pricey Jacq, Anne Frank started her verse to her friend and classmate Jacqueline van Maarsen on 23 March 1942, a few months earlier than going into hiding. Anne continues: Constantly remain a ray of sunshine,/ In college: a kind child,/ To me: my dearest friend,/ Then you surely will seemingly be cherished by all americans. She concludes with: In memory of your friend Anne Frank. The poem is accompanied by a postcard with a drawing of a girl picking flowers and a passport photo of Anne herself.
Colleges Fund
In honour of the special gift and with Jacqueline van Maarsens consent, the Anne Frank Stichting has established a special fund: theJacqueline van Maarsen Colleges Fund. This fund permits important schools in the Netherlands to use a tutorial programme and check with the Anne Frank Dwelling.
